Alvin L. Morrison

Rosary for Alvin L. Morrison will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Union City, with Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

Alvin, of Augusta, Kan., formerly of El Reno and Union City, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, in Augusta. He was born in Union City on Nov. 13, 1930, to the late Mary Ann (Musshafen) and Guy Harrison Morrison.

He was the former owner of Blue Ribbon Cabinets and retired in 2015 after 48 years.

Alvin was a devoted Catholic attending daily Mass at St. James in Augusta, and prior to moving to Augusta, at Sacred Heart in El Reno and St. Joseph in Union City. He enjoyed gardening and raising chickens. Alvin also was a wood craftsman making crosses for those he loved.

On Feb. 14, 1975, Alvin married Joyce (Staton) Morrison and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Meryl.

Alvin is survived by his son, Fred Morrison and wife, Linda of Augusta, Kan.; daughter, Diane Baxter of Fort Cobb; grandchildren, Joe Stiner (Sherry) of Yukon, Carrie Tatyrek (Shawn) of Yukon, Bryan Morrison (Marie) of Edmond and Justin Green (Sara) of Easton, Kan.; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
