Jan was born November 3, 1945, in Kansas City, MO. During her years at KU, she met the love of her life, Michael Ferrari. After their marriage, she was an integral partner in Michael's financial business. They were blessed by the birth of a daughter, Elizabeth, and Jan was a most dedicated mother. Jan loved fine art, painting, and designed unique decorative accessories. She had an adored pet, Penelope, whom she had rescued from a pet shelter. She was a good, kind, loving person. Her final act of kindness was the donation of corneas to provide sight to others.

Jan and Michael were inseparable until his death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a beloved nephew, John McCormick. She is survived by: a beloved daughter, Beth and her fiancé, Bob; a sister: Ellen McCormick; two brothers: Bill and Ed Byrne; and a very special cousin Carol Moroney. " It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known." Please offer condolences at mcgilleyhogememorialchapel.com.
