Pamela Kay Johnson of Moore, Oklahoma, passed from this life on January 31, 2022, at the age of 75. Pam, or "Pam-Pam" as she was affectionately known by her family and close friends, was born on December 28, 1946, in Oklahoma City, to Edward Leander Ruyle and Ruth Goree Royse. Pam attended Catholic School from 1st grade through her graduation from Mt. Saint Mary High School in 1964. She was assistant editor of the yearbook her Junior Year and Editor her senior year. During High School Pam worked at the Capitol Theater and shortly after graduation went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone in OKC and worked for them for 4 years as a long-distance operator.

Pam met James Armstrong and they were married in 1964. On January 31, 1968, Pam gave birth to their daughter Jana Armstrong Freeman. On April 17, 1971, their son, Barry Armstrong was born. Pam then went into the banking business working at Liberty bank in the small Concourse branch beneath the main bank. She and James then established Armstrong Homes in Yukon and began a successful home building career where Pam handled the interior aspect of the homes that they built. Pam then reentered the banking business by going to work for Oklahoma Bank in Yukon. From there she went to Northwest Bank at 22nd and N. May. Northwest was bought out by MidFirst and Pam retired from there as a manager, after making some lifelong friendships with many of her colleagues. Retirement was short, as she soon went to work for Jana handling billing and insurance at Southwest Pediatrics. Pam's final stop work wise as at Westmoore High School where she was a Paraprofessional in the Special Ed Department. She again made some lifelong friendships with both colleagues and students.

Pam and Cecil were married at 12:45 am on January 1st, 1990, in a ceremony in the home attended by many family members and friends. The marriage witnesses were Pam's children, Jana and Barry, and Cecil's children, Shane and Mindy.

Pam enjoyed traveling and was thrilled when she and her daughter took a memorable trip to Rome. They got to see the Vatican as well as other memorable points of the city and countryside. Pam followed her desire to return to the church and answered God's call when he asked her to return to Him. She became the 'Instrument of God's Love' that eventually brought Cecil home as well. They found Father Jack and St Andrew Catholic Church and 100's of friendship's were born! Pam was active in the church as a greeter, As well as a volunteer with the Street People Ministry. She was on the food list for funerals and helped in preparation and cleanup of many functions. Pam had a knack with children and loved being around them and playing with them. They in turn recognized her caring and genuine heart. Pam was a Sooner fan and had season tickets for OU football, especially when Jana was marching with The Pride of Oklahoma band! She also attended as many softball games as possible when Mindy was playing for the Sooners. Most of Barry's football games at Northeastern and Central State University and lots of bleacher time while Shane was playing Juco baseball and his last 2 years at Central State University. Her last great love was riding on the back of the Harley with Cecil. She enjoyed riding with her beloved sister-in-law Rita and her husband Walt and a host of other 'HOG' friends while cruising about through many states and backroads. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying life, family, and friends. She was a wine connoisseur who appreciated al varieties of vino. She absolutely loved to go 'boot scootin' and almost never missed an episode of her favorite show, NCIS. Pam-Pam's beautiful, loving heart touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply and forever missed by all those who knew and loved her.
