Born September 7, 1932, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Cade Stokes and the late Mary Ellen Hatchell Stokes. She was a faithful member of Northside Memorial Baptist Church for over 70 years. She retired as the office manager of Boyle Motor Company after 35 years of service.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kay Billig (David); a son, Thomas J. "Jim" "Tucky" Rogers, Jr.; three grandchildren, Philip Johnson, Ashley Sharpe (Daniel), and Amy Terry (Nick); nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, George Stokes, Lawton Stokes, Talbert Stokes, Otto Stokes, Mae Bell Stokes Gause, and Gordon Stokes.
