Shirley M. Acker, 88, a resident of The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of Clover Creek, rural Martinsburg, passed away Thursday evening, February 3, 2022 at The Village. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late David W. and Helen G. (Delozier) Grant. On August 21, 1954 she married Lloyd J. Acker in Altoona. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2012 after 58 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, James David Acker; four sisters: Janet Grant, Helen Davis, Nancy Grant and Dorothy Lattieri; and two brothers: infant Howard and David W. Grant.

Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Martinsburg and a former member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona. She was primarily a homemaker, who also assisted her husband, Lloyd with the daily operation of their dairy farm on Clover Creek, Huston Township. Shirley loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed solving crossword, word search and jigsaw puzzles.

A private funeral service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, with Pastor Jeffrey Knepper officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
