Nettie Gray Smith Baker, 79, of Hurricane passed away January 10, 2017 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. James C. Baker and served as a pastor's wife in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia for 33 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents Cleo and Nannie Bell Smith, brothers James, Owen, Edward and C.J. Smith Jr. and sisters Marcella Smith and Cledith Fisher.
She is survived by her daughters Audrey Baker Rittenhouse and her husband Jan of Texas and Carolyn Baker of Hurricane, Sisters Elizabeth Herbst of Reynoldsburg, OH, Linda Spencer of Renick, WV and Sharon Peters of Winnemucca, Nevada. Two Grandchildren Jordan Blair Louder and Tayler Morgan Rittenhouse both of Texas, three Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family Steve, Yumiko and Stephanie Schaeffer of Hurricane.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene 2325 US Rt. 60, Hurricane WV 25526 with Dr. Randy James and Rev. Phil Bower officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Sam Black, WV. Visitation will be from 6 til 8 Friday, January 13, 2017 at Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene.
