To have known Buddy is to have known the embodiment of true love selflessly shown through acts of service. Buddy loved big. He loved God, first and foremost, faithfully serving First Presbyterian Church his entire life. He shared his love of music with all as a long-standing member of the choir. He also served as a church elder.
Buddy loved his country and courageously served 3 tours in Vietnam in the United States Army. Buddy loved his family, most especially his precious daughter Betsy. Hand-in-hand, they journeyed through the hills and valleys of life together. Buddy was no stranger to suffering and grief. Although losing his precious wife Sally, his father, mother, beloved sister Jan and his cherished wife and soul mate Linda, he continued to trust his Heavenly Father. He honored the Lord through the way he grieved these many losses.
Buddy continued to live and love big until 2-2-22 when he heard his Heavenly Father say, "well done, good and faithful servant. It's time to come home."
Buddy's love, encouragement and strength will live on through all those lucky enough to call him father, uncle and friend. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Hogg Jenkins; his second wife, Linda Holder Jenkins; his sister, Jan Perrow; and his brother-in-law, Dan Perrow.
Buddy is survived by his daughter, Betsy Taylor and her husband Gary of Hayes, Virginia; two step-children, Chris Arney of Waycross, Bill Arney and his wife Risa of Alma; four grandchildren, Bennett Arney, Jarrett Arney, Berkley Taylor, Trey Taylor; his niece, Beth Wells and her husband Bryan of Cumming, Georgia; his nephew, Dan Perrow and his wife Jennifer of Seattle, Washington, and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m., at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
