Dorothy Taylor Lewis, 91, of Summit Point, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2022, at her home.
Born September 26, 1930, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Odessa Taylor.
She was a member of the Charles Town, West Virginia Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She graduated from Page Jackson High School, in Charles Town. She later went on to graduate from Beauty College in Atlantic City, New Jersey, after having attended beauty college in Winchester, Virginia and Bel Air, Maryland. She was a self-employed beauty operator in Bel Air, Baltimore, Maryland, Ranson, and Summit Point. She also worked as a Nursing Assistant in Berryville, Virginia.
Dot Taylor Lewis, or "Mommy Dot," as she was affectionately called, is survived by her children: Robert Gibson, and wife Melinda, and Dee Lavender; her grandchildren: Thea and Owen Gibson, and wife Tyler, and Brandon Lavender; her great grandchildren: Ava Perry and Legend Lavender, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lewis; her youngest daughter, Michelle Berry, and her brothers, James and Alvin Taylor.
