Maria do Carmo Avila, age 77, of Modesto, California passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California. She was born March 4, 1944 in São Bartolomeu, Terceira, Açores, Portugal to Jesuina Freitas and Jose Coelho Fraga.
Maria is survived by: her son Danilo F. Avila (Amy) of Ceres; her daughter Maria Elizabeth Avila of Modesto; and her daughter Filomena Avila of Modesto; her brother Jorge Fraga of Lowell, Massachusetts; and her sister Odete Fagundes of Lowell, Massachusetts; her grandchild Lucien Nault, her grandchild Aidan Avila and her grandchild Austin Avila.
Maria was preceded in death by her father Jose Coelho Fraga, her mother Jesuina Freitas, and her husband Francisco Avila.
A Recitation of the Rosary followed by Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Road, Turlock, California. Following will be a Committal Service at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
