John Grasse, 75, of Winchester, IN, passed away Sunday, January 30th, 2022, peacefully while in the company of family members at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. John was born in Richmond, IN, on March 2, 1946, a son of the late Anna M. (Quaglio) and John Grasse. He attended Richmond High School, worked in casket assembly for over 34 years prior to the closing of York Casket Company in Lynn, IN. John was the loving husband of Sandra Sue (Wright) Grasse who he happily married on May 24, 1969 and sadly lost on January 5, 2010. He was an extremely social man who loved to help others, and a true joy to be around. John enjoyed racing, mowing, eating out, watching western's, A-Team, listening to 50's and 60's music, collecting tools, putting pennies in his shoes, time on his porch, spending time with his McDonald's buddies, his children, and grandchildren. He is survived by 4 children; Melissa Phenis (husband Russell), Mike S. Grasse, John Eric Grasse (wife Michele), Justin Grasse, 1 sister; Virginia Cones, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandra, 1 brother; Tony Grasse, 2 sisters; Josephine Watson, and Mary Herity. Due to dangerous weather conditions visitation will now be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 12:30-2 PM at the Winchester First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Danny Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester, IN.
