It Is with extreme sadness we announce the passing of Joseph Wayne Watson, aged 70. Joe died peacefully at his home in Statesville, NC , February 1. 2022.
Joe was born in Washington, DC in 1951.
Joe grew up in Spartanburg, SC and after graduating college with an engineering degree, Joe began his career in Maryland as an Engineer in the Aerospace industry which lasted until his retirement. Joe was an antique car enthusiast, an artist and a music lover with a wonderful classic rock record album collection.
Joe never hesitated to adopt or foster countless
dogs and cats over the years. He was a genuinely
kind man who would give anyone the shirt off
his back. Joe enjoyed many fulfilling relation-
ships with his family, friends and neighbors. He
will be greatly missed.
Preceding joe in death were his parents, Virginia R de Silva and Donald de Silva,
Daughter, Jennifer R Watson, brother, Steven de Silva. Niece, Lorelei Dyke de Silva. , grandparents- Wayne and Margaret Chinn
Surviving are his sisters, Connie
M Harper and Cathy M de Silva, Aunt Dorothy
Pultz, nieces, Donna Hoskinson, Ashley Greene
and Nephew, Michael Madden.
Joe's memorial service will be held at a later
date at Greenlawn Cernetery in Spartanburg, SC.
