Carol was born on October 12, 1940, to Peter and Esther (Johnson) Ruppert in North Platte County, Nebraska at her grandparents' home. Carol graduated in 1958 from Sylvia High School in Sylvia, Kansas and attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska where she received her associate's degree in nursing. Carol was an LPN for Leisure Homestead in Stafford, Kansas for 20 years. She loved cooking, dancing and tending to her flowers. Carol loved life and her family. She was a member of Sylvia United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol is survived by her significant other and the love of her life, Leonard Sinclair; two children, Deborah (Jon) Crotts from Garden City, KS and Kevin Smith from Hutchinson, KS; three grandchildren, Amber (Derek) Jewell from Oklahoma, Trenton and Dakotah Smith from Hutchinson, KS; and four great grandchildren, Dylan and Avery Jewell from Oklahoma, Raiden and Brooklin Smith from Hutchinson, KS.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 4, 2022, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Burial will take place at Sylvia Cemetery, Sylvia, KS. Memorials may be given to Hutchinson Humane Society or Hospice and Home Care of Reno County and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
