Joseph J. Adams, 57, of Conyngham passed away Tuesday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest following a one-month illness.

Born in Hazleton, March 20, 1964, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Helen Irene (Kushmerick) Adams. He was raised in Freeland and later moved to Hazleton and West Hazleton prior to moving to Conyngham nine years ago.

Joseph was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a dock worker for Roadway Trucking, Tannersville, a machine operator at Bemis, Valmont Industrial Park and a Saw Machine Operator for United Forest Products, Delano. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member and activities coordinator for the Black Creek Sportsman's Club, a member of the National Traditional Bowhunting Organization and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. He was also interested in American history.

Surviving are his wife of the past nine years, the former Carol Yeakel; a daughter, Virginia Adams, Conyngham; a brother, Daniel and his wife, Patricia, Albemarle, N.C.; two sisters, Patricia Blizzard, Waterford, Conn.; and Sandra Kuklis and her husband, William, Freeland; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his three dogs, Bandit, Bentley and Gizmo.

His funeral from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.
Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
