Mrs. Rebecca L. Siler, 87, of Monroe, formerly of Dundee, died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday in Mercy Memorial Hospital. She had been a resident of Beach Nursing Home for the past six years. Friends may call after 6 tonight in the Buhl-Cover Funeral Home, Dundee, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Laura Greig of the First Presbyterian Church of Dundee will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dundee. Born August 4, 1904, in Albion, she was the daughter of Merritt and Minnie (Bristol) Smith. She was married May 20, 1924, to Donald E. Siler in Dundee. He died July 18, 1985. Mrs. Siler had been employed by the Ritter Shoe Store in Dundee. She and her husband also had operated the Siler Hatchery in Dundee for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dundee and a charter member of the Dundee Village Planning Commission. Surviving are a son, William of Bellefontaine, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Harwick of Dundee; two sisters, Laura Belle Missler and Edla Blessing, both of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Siler; and a sister, Edwina Strain. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
