James T Powers, 93, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2022.

James T Powers was born on August 24, 1928, in Lometa, Texas to Este Pearl Powers and Joe Marvin Powers.

He served in the US Army Artillery Branch for two years.

In 1953, he married Lucille Powers in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They made their home in Georgetown, Texas and went on to have two children, James Powers Jr, b. 1954, and David Powers, b. 1962.

While living in Georgetown, James was a home builder.

James continued woodworking as a hobby and crafted grandfather clocks, furniture, and fine pen sets. He was a long-time member of Williamson County Gem and Mineral Society and showcased his gem and mineral spheres at numerous "Gemboree" shows.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Powers; son, James Powers Jr; parents, Este Pearl Powers and Joe Marvin Powers; and his brothers, Jack Powers and Louane Powers.

He is survived by his son, David Powers; grandchildren Moriah Powers, Colby Powers, and Reese Ellen Powers; great-grandson, Devin Wilson; and his sisters, Bonnie Ringstaff and Nova Lee Cole.

A graveside service for James will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas.
