Mary Jane was born July 11, 1947 in Kewanee, the daughter of Morris and Marjorie (Orwig) Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail (Pat) Sherbeyn of LaFayette, IL, her son, Patrick (Sue Ann) Conner of Galva, her sister, Karen of Deerfield, IL, her brothers; John (Nancy) of Springfield, VA, Paul (Becky) of Lafayette, TN, Bill (Ellie) of Lake Placid, FL, Gary of Tellico Plains, TN and Ed (Debbie) of Kewanee, two granddaughters, Amber (Craig) Sherbeyn and Kristin Spiegel, four great grandchildren; Ethan, Carter, Addy and Westley and eight nieces and nephews; Stephanie, Jennifer, Stephen, Michelle, Beth, Matthew, Justin and Kathy.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary Jane was a very special lady to anyone who crossed her path. She was a hard-working farm wife for many years before taking a career at IME in Galva and later hiring on at Komatsu in Peoria, moving her to Washington, IL. She retired from Komatsu in 2013. She loved sewing, crocheting, volunteering at Illinois Cancer Care, making bears for Sojourn Bear through UnityPoint Health and hats for cancer patients, but most of all she loved and cherished being with her friends and family.
Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Illinois Cancer Care of Peoria or to Sojourn Bear c/o UnityPoint Health-Proctor.
