Thomas Barber (3) (1671-1714) is Generation (3) from immigrant Sgt. Thomas Barber (1), born 21 Dec 1612, St. George Parish, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England - died 11 Sep 1662, Windsor, CT.

Thomas Barber (1) (1612-1662), carpenter's apprentice, sailed from London, England to Boston on the ship "Christian." After ten days, the ship sailed up the Connecticut River to Windsor.

Thomas Barber (1) married wife "Jane" on 7 Oct 1640. Children of Thomas and Jane were born at Windsor. They are John, baptized 1642; Thomas, baptized 1644; Sarah, baptized 1646; Samuel, baptized 1648, Mary or Mercy, baptized 1651; and Josiah, baptized 15 Feb 1753/1754.

Their son, Thomas Barber (2) (1644-1713) married at Windsor on 17 Dec 1663 to Mary Phelps (1644-1724), daughter of William and Mary (Dover) Phelps. Children: John, born Windsor, 1664; Mary, born Windsor, 1666/67; Sarah, Windsor, 1669; Joanna, born 1670; Anne, born Simsbury 1671; Thomas, born Simsbury 1671; Samuel, born Simsbury 1673; another child born Simsbury 1677, died young.

Thomas Barber (2) carried on with the carpenter trade of his father. He was involved in violent fighting in the "King Phillip's War" with the native Indians in 1676-1677. He built the first church in Simsbury in 1683.

Thomas Barber (3) (1671-1714) married Abigail Buel on 25 May 1699, "both of Simsbury," daughter of Peter and Martha (Coggens) Buell. Abigail was born 17 May 1673, died Simsbury 30 Aug 1827. They resided Simsbury and Windsor.

Thomas (4), born 19 Jan 1700/1701- died 16 Jun 1775, married Mercy/ Marcy Case.

Abigail, born 1706, died 8 Jan 1779, married Simsbury 31 Oct 1728 Jacob Case, born Windsor 19 March 1702/03, died 23 Jul 1763, son of Joseph and Ann (Eno) Case. Both deaths are recorded in Windsor, burial in Simsbury. Children of Abigail and Jacob Case were born at Simsbury.
