Richard Jeffries was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Hyattsville, Maryland and then Falls Church, Virginia. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1967. Richard worked in a variety of fields over the years, including the Pentagon, the Post Office, First Virginia Bank, and the Fairfax County government.

Richard was the caregiver for his mother, and made her last years a little brighter because he was always there for her. He never had a nasty word to say about anyone. Everyone who met him remarked upon his friendly and easy going nature. He was a big fan of rock 'n roll oldies, old television shows, and pro wrestling. He loved to dance.

Richard leaves behind two sisters, Joyce Foroobar of Burke, Va., and Janet Marcellino, of Falls Church, Va., as well as a brother, Donald Jeffries of Burke, Va. He also was an uncle to a large assortment of nieces and nephews, and had too many cousins to count.

Richard's ashes will be interred in his parents' grave at Fairfax Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held in May, with details to be provided.
