Mary Ethel Messer Love June 18, 1933 - February 1, 2022

Mary Ethel Messer Love, 88, of 328 Moss Crossing, Blacksburg, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Clinton, S.C. she was the wife of Loyd Junior Love of the home and daughter of the late Crawford Messer and Iola Childers Messer.

She retired from textiles, loved her family, camping and fishing and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Clarence Messer of Gaffney, S.C.; a daughter, Bonnie Love of Gaffney; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charlie Lowery and David Messer, a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Carabello, a grandson, Andy Lowery, two brothers, Charles Messer and William Messer and two sisters, Dorothy Turner and Helen Bright.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Social distancing and masks are requested.

The family will be at the residence, 328 Moss Crossing, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702.
