Patsy Elberta (Whitis) Jones, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother passed away on February 1, 2022 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 85.

She was born July 25, 1936, the oldest child of Elbert Robinson and Beulah Modenia (Bolding) Whitis. Patsy was born and raised in the Maysville, Oklahoma area. She graduated from Maysville High School in 1953, at 16 years old. Patsy married Manly Edward Jones and together they raised their two children, Jerry and Diane. The family lived multiple places in the Oklahoma City metro, eventually calling Norman home. Patsy has had the same address for the past 53 years. For the last 14 years her loving companion, David Lee, has been important to her life and our family.

During her younger years Patsy worked in various clerical positions, but eventually took on the most important role of her life…partner-in-crime to her grandchildren. This much-loved job included: forgetting what the word 'no' meant, hiding holes in the wall from grandpa, teaching 12-year-olds to drive, and generally concealing all evidence from the parents. Whether she was asked or not, Patsy would tell you that she had the most wonderful children and grandchildren in the world and dared anyone to disagree with her. Patsy had an incredible ability to have each of us believe we were her "favorite". Whoever she was with believed they were the center of her world.

Patsy made friends everywhere she went, even waiting in line at the grocery store. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, square-dancing, and the two-step. She greeted everyone with a smile, teased you relentlessly, and was absolutely full of sass. She answered to many names including Patsy, Pat, Mom, Mama, Mother, Grandma, Gram, and GG. She was the center of our family and will be forever missed.

Patsy is survived by her sweetheart, David Lee; sister Dorris Long and brother-in-law Willie of Norman, OK; son Jerry Jones and daughter-in-law, Debbie, and their children and grandchildren of Norman, OK; daughter Diane Carey and son-in-law, Leonard, their children, grandchildren & great grandchild of Norman, OK.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, and husband Manly.
