She was born February 19, 1929 at St. Thomas Hospital to proud parents, Kenneth and Virginia Hardesty. Joanne attended Ellet High School with her husband, Ernest. She was class of 1947, while he was class of 1945. She caught his eye while singing in the Oak Hill Presbyterian church choir and it carried over to them being high school sweethearts. After getting married at Oak Hill, they started their journey in Akron, moving to Parma and then Lorain. After moving back to Akron, they finally settled in Bath Township. Here, they looked forward to growing vegetables and canning, making wine and sausage, and enjoying life with their friends of the Bath Fire Department. She was also a life member of D.A.V. and an avid bowler.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ernest J. Morgan Jr. who passed in 1999; parents, Kenneth (1976) and Virginia (1992); brother, Richard Hardesty (January 1972); and grandson, Gregory (1990). She is survived by her children, Joyce Carden, Douglas (Lisa), Diane Morgan, Jeffery (Susan), Brian (Deborah), James (Teresa), and Bradley (Kathy); 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn Reed.
