LARGO, Fla. — Jackie E. Semerod Sr., 84, of Largo, Florida. passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at Largo Medical Center, in Largo, Florida.

He was born Sept. 2, 1937, in Mount Carmel, a son and of the late William and Verna Dietz Semerod.

He graduated Mount Carmel High School where he played trumpet in the band, and continued playing trumpet in area bands.

He was married to Barbara Williams, who passed away Oct. 21, 2014.

He worked at Maurer's Dairy, in Mount Carmel, where he pasteurized milk for 20 years then Leichtman Ice Cream, in Hazleton, where he made a formula for ice cream mix, and at Fleetwood Motorhomes, in Paxinos, for 10 years in the plumbing department. After retiring from Fleetwood, he move to Florida where he enjoyed doing handyman work.

He was known for telling jokes.

Jackie is survived by his children, Jackie Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Darlene, Edward, and Kimberly Raker Przekop and his son-in-law, Harry; eight grandchildren, Jackie III, Jesse, Krystal, Shane, Noah, Seth, Chase and Cheyenne; four great-grandchildren; and his girlfriend, Diana, with whom he lived with for several years when he passed away.

Jackie's wishes were for no services.
