Linda Joy Bennett was born on Friday, October 10, 1952 in Natchitoches, LA to Buford and Catherine Bennett. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at her home in Minden, LA following a battle with cancer.
Joy graduated from Gibsland High School in 1970. She was formerly employed in the business field in Dallas TX and Shreveport, LA and had recently retired as a tax preparer in Homer, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Catherine (DeLukie) Bennett and brother, Buford Franklin Bennett, Jr.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law; Bradley Bennett and wife Necy of Robeline, LA, Carl Bennett and wife Debbie of Quitman, LA and Alan Bennett and wife Melissa of Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to Covid-19, a private remembrance service will be held at graveside pending burial at Adkins Cemetery near Homer, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to remember Joy do so with a charitable contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
