Mrs. Mary Loretta (Pearl) Holt was born July 1, 1937 to the late Novella Armstrong and Joseph Butler. She was raised by her grandparents Ana and Thomas Armstrong and educated in St Mary's County School Public System. Early in her career, she worked several department-store jobs until she was able to get a Federal Government job at the Department of Labor (DOL). She worked at the DOL for 24 years until she retired.
Mary was married to the late Mr. James Jones and that union produced two children. In 1984, she married "the love of her life" Mr. William T. Holt. They shared 37 wonderful and loving years together dancing to soul music every chance they got.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband the Late William T. Holt, two brothers William Benedict (Junie) Herbert Jr., James Harry "Herb" Herbert, and one sister Frances Teresa (Sarah Jane) Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her two loving children; two granddaughters; one stepdaughter; one great granddaughter; two brothers; three sisters; two sisters-in law; special daughters; nieces; nephews; and a host of family; and friends.
