Sgt. Ralph Brown was born on November 23, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mary and Joe Brown. He left peacefully for his heavenly mansion on January 22, 2022. He dedicated his life to God, work and family.

He graduated from Christus Addicks High School in Indianapolis and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Park University in the State of Missouri. Ralph entered the Air Force in 1971. In 1975 he became an Air Traffic Control Operator and later Air Traffic Control Technician and Communication System Plan and Programs Management Technician.

Decorations, Medals, Badges, Citations, and Campaign Ribbon Awarded or Authorized (all periods of service): AF Training Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Good Conduct Ribbon with five oak leaf clusters, AF Outstanding Unit Award.

In 1991, Ralph retired from the Air Force with "maximum years of service allowed by Air Force policy" with an "Honorable Discharge". In February 1992, Ralph joined the Houston Police Department's Westside Division. After more than 21 years of service in the proud tradition of the Houston Police Dept., Senior Police Officer Ralph Brown chose to begin his well earned retirement on May 11, 2013.

Ralph was liked by everyone for his gentle spirit, always using every means to teach his children, nieces and nephews to be the best they could be. He counseled, prayed, listened, comforted and was a blessing to all he encountered without expectation for gratitude. A very memorable smile. True example of what a real man should be.

Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Brown; father, Joe Brown; brothers, Harold, Larry, Joe Louis, James, and Kevin; and sister, Tonya Brown.

Ralph is survived by his wife and family.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, January 31, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary West.

Interment with Military Honors will follow on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in Houston National Cemetery.
