Mrs. Joy Sheets Taylor, 72, of Hickory passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 following a period of declining health.
Joy was born November 26, 1949 to the late Rev. Norman Sheets and Mrs. Effie Richardson Sheets. Joy was a caring wife, step mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Earnest Sheets, Della Dolinger, Burlie Dolinger, Gray Hensley, Dean Sheets, Virginia Brooks, Josephine Pipes, Edith Pugh, and Pauline Martin.
Survivors include, her husband George Edward Taylor of Morganton; son, Jason Taylor and wife Dawn of Hickory; grandchildren, Aubree Taylor, Kaylyn Taylor, Chloe Taylor, and Jason Taylor; siblings, Bertie Wilson and husband William, Avery Sheets, and Jannelle Buffkin.
A memorial service will be held 3:00PM Thursday, February 3, 2022 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service.
