John James Cooke III, 51, of Owings passed away January 27, 2022. He was born September 23, 1970 to John James, Jr. and Kathleen Helen Cooke.
John grew up in Prince George's County, moved to Calvert County in 1984 and graduated from Northern High School in 1989.
John served his country in the United States Navy.
He was employed at Pohanka Honda in Capitol Heights for 29 years where his supervisor states John was the most dedicated, efficient and respected parts representative he had ever seen during his 40 years at Pohanka. John was a perfectionist, and everyone knew they could count on him to help with anything.
John enjoyed going to the gym and competitive weight lifting. He currently holds the Maryland state record in his weight class for dead lifting, which he set in 1994.
John had a great love for his family and pets. He was a very meticulous and neat person and took great pride in his yard and home.
He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, and spending time with his friends, especially at his friend's cabin in Pennsylvania. John loved the Redskins and was an avid sports fan.
John is survived by his mother Kathleen Cooke, sisters Michele Walker (Terry Dorr) and Pamela Wise-Corridean and her spouse Paul Corridean, nieces Jessica Wise and Claudia Killerlane, nephew Michael Wise, great nephew Lawrence "LJ" Nocente, Jr., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father John James Cooke, Jr. and niece Erica Killerlane.
