Barbara (Turner) Shackelford, age 87, of Prattville, Alabama, formerly of College Park, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late John Clayton Turner and Ruby (Wheeler) Turner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Shackelford. Barbara, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, grew up and lived the majority of her life around the Atlanta, Georgia area. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Atlanta Christian College. Her passion and primary focus was always her family for whom she sacrificed and supported throughout her life. She was also blessed to be involved and have lifetime friendships from her participation in the many churches in which she was active throughout her life including Grant Park Christian Church, First Christian of College Park, First Christian of Carrollton, Capital View Christian Church, Southwest Christian Church, First Christian of Fayetteville, and then later First Christian of Prattville and Cornerstone Christian Church. Her love of gardening was exhibited in the volunteer work that she accomplished within the Southwest Christian Care Hospice gardens for many years. Her love of travel was shared with various family members as well as lifetime friends through many trips throughout the United States and abroad, the memories of which she treasured. This last trip was with her Lord to her heavenly resting place.



Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at Cannon Cleveland Funeral.
