Sandra Jo Griffin
March 4, 1953 - January 24, 2022

Sandra Jo Griffin passed away on January 24, 2022.

Sandra was born on March 4, 1953 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Willis B. and Mildred W. Griffin.

She graduated from Northern Nash High School and attended Hardbargers Business College and ECU. She began her career with CP& L, later Hardees Food Systems and completed her professional "working days" with the Town of Nashville as Finance Director.

After retirement she enjoyed working as the treasurer for Red Oak Fire Department. She loved sports and was a full-time "Mom Supporter" to her daughter, Ashton Fisher throughout highschool and college. She never missed a game or an opportunity to "Cheer"! Sandra carried that same zest for her "Grand's" activities at school and in their activities. She was ever faithful to them. Next to her "human family" she loved her four-legged family to the max. She always loved her yard work and the results of her flower gardens were spectacular. She took great pride in getting her "fingers in the dirt". Sandra was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church and had a desire and mission to always help those less fortunate and in need.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Ashton Jones Fisher (Brent) and three grandchildren Reid, Rylan and Olivia Fisher. Sandra was known as "Meme" by them and they loved her.

She was also survied by sister Beth Blanchard (Jerry); brother Neil Griffin (Dot) and many special nephews and neices.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Bunny Griffin (Dale).

The family would like to recognize her medical support team at UNC Cancer Center, Kindred Home Health, and Nash UNC Hopice.

A graveside service was held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00am at Red Oak Cemetery with Pastor Chris Fowler officiating.

Cornerstone Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
