Patsy was initially raised at Rattan, eastern Oklahoma, moving to Fox with her sister Ainna Beatrice Thompson, when their parents passed away. Patsy was a young girl at this time and remained at Bea and Leons attending school at Fox where she graduated high school. While attending a picture show at El Rancho theatre of Ringling, she met her future husband, Marvin Smith. They were united in marriage on Aug. 7, 1955 and have lived and worked at Ringling where they remained. Patsy worked outside the home at the local Pants Factories until its closing.
Patsy was a dedicated mother and homemaker and loved her children and grandchildren immensely. She was very close to her granddaughter, Alyssa, being her primary caretaker for over twenty years. Patsy enjoyed her time with Alyssa and all of all her grandchildren. She loved doing crossword puzzles and reading and was of the Baptist Faith.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Marvin, May 19, 1999; daughter in law, Terri Smith; brothers, James Wallace, Joe Lee and Doyle Dees; sisters, Marie Tallant, Celeste Roan, Dovie Ribail, Ainna Beatrice Thompson and Carolyn Anderson.
