Wendy Gayle Andersen-Cox, the daughter of Melody Rivera and Kenneth Boone, was born November 24, 1975, in West Monroe, Louisiana, although grew up in Galveston, Texas. Wendy entered eternal rest on January 30, 2022, at Blessing Health Keokuk, at the age of 46.
Wendy graduated from Ball High School in 1993. She married John Cox on June 5, 2010.

Wendy can be described as resilient. She spent her life healing, growing, and trying. Wendy always had good intentions, a helping hand, and a gentle soul. Wendy enjoyed riding on the back of her husband's motorcycle, living life with her "brothers & sisters", crown & coke, the beach, and reading. Recently, Wendy found peace in making friendships at the elderly retirement home, camping with her husband, and singing old songs. Wendy was eccentric and wild, but she loved with her entire heart. She will be remembered for her hamburger soup, broccoli rice and cheese casserole, deviled eggs, and chicken fried steak.

"For I must be traveling on now
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see
But if I stay here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change"

Left to cherish Wendy's memories include her husband John (the absolute love of her life), her stepson Kevin Andersen (Amanda) of Missouri, Stepdaughter Susie Hemm (John) of Iowa, son Tyler Trapani of Texas, son Billy King (Gabrielle) of Iowa and daughter Heaven Johnson (Danielle) of Iowa. Eleven Grandchildren; numerous siblings; Several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Wendy is preceded in death by her mother (Melody), stepfather (Ray), father-in-law (Lester), mother-in-law (Susan), grandson (Xavier), and others she adored (Callie, Aline, Delvin, Mr. Jack) and more.

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
A celebration of life will be held privately on 02/12/22 at 5:00pm. Please get a hold of family directly for attendance information. Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Andersen-Cox family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
