Ricky Byrd Bryant Sr., age 63, gained his wings on January 28, 2022. He was born December 18, 1958, son of the late Warren Byrd Bryant & Joyce (Brown) Bryant.

He was preceded in death not only by both of his parents, but also by one brother, Kenneth Walter Bryant; all of his grandparents, Walter & Ruby (Morris) Brown and Percy & Henrietta (Coleman) Bryant; a nephew, Warren Dale Bryant Jr; two nieces, Amanda Nicole Bryant & Heather Marie Bryant; and also his mother-in-law, Pauline Wood.

Ricky leaves behind a large family who will miss him dearly: his loving wife of 32 years, Jennifer (Barrett) Bryant; 2 sons, Ricky Bryant Jr (wife Mindy) and A.J. Bryant; 2 daughters, Jenessa Bryant Campbell (fiancé Steve) and Jelissa Bryant (fiancé Nathan); 3 brothers, Dale Bryant (wife Brenda), Gary Bryant (wife Lynn), & Randy Bryant (wife Rita); 1 sister, Susie Bryant; 3 nephews, Steven Bryant Jr, Bobby Bryant (wife Vera), & Jay Bryant Jr; 3 nieces, Kimberly Byers (husband Alan), Glenna Via (husband Stephen) Kari Claytor and 12 grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Aidan, Kylee, William, Abigail, Adrianna, Stephen, Karadee, Kresyda, Maggie, & Jemmaly; 1 brother-in-law, Eddie Lawson; and 1 sister-in-law, Janna Wood.

Ricky began singing & playing music with his family at the young age of 10 ... and it's been his passion ever since. He won his 1st talent show at the age of 14, gaining more trophies throughout the years. He originally was a male vocalist & banjo player in the family band called "Ricky Bryant and the Ridge Runner Band." He was a singer & musician in several other bands before becoming the owner of the "High-N-Dry" band.

He was very talented as a musician, being able to play any instrument he picked up, including the guitar (flat top/acoustic, electric, and steel), banjo, bass, fiddle, mandolin, drums, and even a little piano!

Ricky was also well-known for a couple original songs ("Puttin Socks on a Rooster" & "If I Were an Angel") for which he wrote the lyrics and the melody. On weekends that his band was playing, the crowds would ask for special requests - "Hey, Ricky, play that Rooster song!" - wanting to hear his music.

Vocationally, Ricky worked for the City of Waynesboro for 19 years, and then worked as a heavy equipment operator for Augusta County Service Authority up until he retired in 2012.

In his free time, Ricky loved spending time with his family, playing with his grandkids, taking rides on his motorcycle, nicknamed "Lucille", having cookouts, and going to the Waynesboro Moose Lodge #1309, where he was a member.

Ricky leaves behind several special musician friends, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Service information will be announced shortly.
