Evelyn Laverne Martin, 101 of Bowie, TX passed away Saturday, January 29th, 2022.
Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Burial will follow at Vashti Cemetery in Vashti, TX.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 3rd, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Evelyn was born March 18, 1920 in Haskell County, Texas to L.L. and Beulah (Coker) McCown. On November 30th, 1947, Evelyn married Homer M. Martin Jr, together they raised 3 children, Michael, Jan and Sue. Evelyn dedicated her life in the service of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was blessed to be able to accompany her husband around the United States, preaching the gospel. Evelyn and Homer were married just shy of 62 years, before his passing in 2009.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Homer Martin, their son Michael Martin, her parents, brothers Harlan McCown and A.B. McCown, and sister Charlene Ragsdale.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters Sue Martin and Jan Snow and husband Geoff, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
