Mr. Stephen L. Monn, 74, of Waynesboro, PA passed away, Thursday, January 13, 2022 in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital. His death was unexpected and attributed to heart failure.

Born February 19, 1947 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. and Myra Marie (Kissinger) Monn.

Steve graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1965. He later received his Bachelor's Degree from Shippensburg University in Math and English and his Master's Degree from Shippensburg University in Computer Science.

He and his wife of over 51 years, Mary Catherine "Kitty" (Foyle) Monn, were married on August 22, 1970 in Waynesboro.

Steve worked as a computer analyst at NCR and later was the head of information systems at Hagerstown Community College for 15 years. Prior to his retirement in 2013, he was the Head of Technology at St. James School, Hagerstown, MD.

Steve was devoted to the betterment of Waynesboro and was currently serving as the chairman of the Borough Planning Commission. He was also a founding member and former treasurer of The Arts Alliance, Waynesboro.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert J. Monn and his wife, Joliange Wright of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Agatha Monn and Willie Monn-Wright; one brother, Timothy Monn; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Monn and one sister, Marilyn Swartz.

Services and burial in Antietam Cemetery, Waynesboro will be private.
