Mattie Young was born to Worth William and Malinda (Huser) Young on December 6, 1882, at her grandmother's house in Gentryville, Indiana. She was married twice: first to Harry Greely, then to Otto Hennig. She had no children. Mattie and her sister, Bertha, both moved to the Pacific Northwest, with Mattie living in Portland and Bertha in Vancouver; after the death of their mother, their father alternated living with his two daughters. Although Mattie had no direct descendants, she was remembered by nieces Nancy, Alice, and Isabel and nephew George.
