Phyllis Bucker Meredith, 78, of Palm Bay, Florida, died peacefully on January 25, 2022. She was born January 1, 1944, to the late Bernard Henry Bucker Sr. and Sadie Jerry Bucker. She was raised in Richmond, Virginia and graduated from St. Gertrude High School in 1962. She worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia Taxation Department and Mechanicsville Elementary School. Before relocating to Florida, Phyllis was a devout member of Church of the Redeemer in Mechanicsville, Va. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William Howard Meredith; as well as her children, Helen (Michael) Meredith-Boyd of Newport News, Virginia and Frederick (Kristin) Meredith of Quinton, Virginia; grandchildren, Meredith Christensen, Sadie Harper, Emerie Meredith, Lance Meredith-Boyd. A graveside ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 12 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1400 S. Randolph Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
