James Edward Lemaster, age 71, of Manistique, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2020, at UPHS- Marquette. He was born the son of James and Marie (Nelson) Lemaster, on June 20, 1949 in Paintsville, Kentucky. At the age of 3, the family moved to Manistique, where James attended St Francis de Sales Catholic School, and later graduated from Manistique High School with the class of 1967. On August 3, 1966 Jim married the former Luella Marie Chase at St Francis de Sales Church in Manistique. Luella preceded him in death on March 15, 2001.Jim married the former Honey W. Messer in Hidden Rocks Beach, FL on January 12, 2006. She preceded Jim in death on September 23, 2015.

Jim was employed as a boilermaker, and was a proud member of Local #169. He worked on several projects in Michigan, including the boilers at Manistique Papers (now UP Paper) of Manistique. He was a member of St Francis de Sales Parish of Manistique, and he enjoyed bowling, building things in his garage, and especially working on his cars. Most important to Jim however, was the time spent with children and grandchildren, which he dearly loved.

Jim is survived by his son; Donald (Wanda) Lemaster of Manistique, daughter; Kellie Jo (Larry Pratt) Spencer of Dafter, MI, brother Roy (Carla) Lemaster of Washington, sister; Belinda (Perry) Potter of Florida, 6 grandchildren; Nicholas, Anthony, Samuel, Lauranna, Jimmy, and Tyler, his Mother in Law, Myrabelle Chase, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his wives Luella and Honey, he was preceded in death by his infant son, James, his parents, James and Marie, brothers; David and Bill, and sister Carol.

Graveside services for James Lemaster, will be held on Wednesday August 19, 2020 at 12:00 noon, at Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev. Father Ben Paris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Jims name to CBC. Fausett Family Funeral Homes of Manistique is assisting the family with the arrangements.
