Lori Burner Rogers of St. George, UT passed away on January 27, 2022 after complications of ongoing health and respiratory problems. She was a survivor of many health concerns and was passionate about research and education on wellness for all in her community.
Lori Jayne Burner-Rogers was born on October 23, 1958 to Christine Rae Mckinney and Gerald W. Burner in Long Beach, California. After Lori graduated from El Dorado High School in 1976, she had three children who she independently raised until she met her husband Kirk Rogers in 1987. Lori loved her childhood and had fond memories of family vacations and taking trips to Northern California to visit her grandmother Elsie and her grandfather Donald who she deeply l0ved. In recent years she moved to St. George to be closer to her "Mommy" who she admired, adored, and loved. She found a home across the street that she proudly renovated and took great pride in decorating with elegance and charm, as interior design was one of her many talents.
Lori was a loving, empathetic person who was always committed to doing things for others. She loved the ocean and dreamed of having an RV where she could travel the coasts and camp on the sand. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed any opportunity to be around mountains and waves. She was passionate about animal rights and would find any opportunity to feed birds, take in stray cats, and donate to animal rights agencies. She was a lifelong entrepreneur, operating many businesses serving her community, including her retail space Gypsy Emporium in Hurricane, UT. In this space, she dedicated precious time to providing relics of beauty and antiquity. She had a gift for decorating, art and design.
Lori was blessed with multiple nephews, nieces, and grandchildren who she loved deeply and spoiled often. Her family was her life. She was eager for every moment she was able to spend with them. She is remembered for always offering her grandchildren her time, gifts, love, and care. Her love for her husband was relentless and she often told her family that he saved her life.
She was greeted in heaven by her son, Gabriel Kingston and many others who had gone before. She is survived by her loving, dedicated husband Kirk Rogers, daughter Alexya Abbe, and youngest son, Joshua Kingston, Mother and Step Father, Jack and Christine Huntley. Also, as the oldest of four, she was inspired by her siblings Chris Burner, Tom Burner, and sister Jeri Marshall. She loved to be a part of their lives as they married and raised children which expanded her family and further enhanced her life.
She will be missed by her friends and family whose lives she greatly impacted.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the LDS church located at 1184 N. Dixie Downs Drive, St. George UT. A visitation will be prior to the funeral from 10:00-10:45 am.
Internment will be Wednesday, February 2, 200 at 1:00 pm at the Orem City Cemetery located at 1520 North 800 East in Orem, Utah under the direction of McMillan Mortuary 435.688.8880.
Her husband thanks the nurses and doctors at St. George Regional Medical Center who devoted their time to providing care and support to her in her last moments.
