Catherine Rose Beck, 85, of Pleasant Grove, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 26, 2022, at The Meadows of Cadiz.

Catherine was born in Dillonvale, Ohio on October 3, 1936, the only daughter of the late Wilbur and Catherine (Gasda) Woods.

In addition to her parents, Catherine is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Kent Beck, and her brothers Richard Woods and Dr. John Woods. Catherine is survived by her brother; Dr. Joseph (Dianne) Woods, sister-in-law Barbara Woods, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Catherine lived a full and gracious life. She had a long and successful career at Peoples National Bank and was a former officer at the bank. She thought of her colleagues at the bank as friends and enjoyed knowing them for so many years. When not working, Catherine was a loving daughter who selflessly cared for her own mother for most of her life. She did it tirelessly without complaint and only with love. She was a lifelong Catholic and a dedicated member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Catherine spent many hours volunteering at St. Casimir's and would always do for others before doing for herself. Whether she was collecting the books after church on Sundays or even helping to clean the church, she was always willing to help. She was also a member of the Catholic Women's Club (CWC) at St. Casimir Catholic Church. In her free time, Catherine enjoyed reading, gardening, antiquing and refinishing. She was an avid reader with an extensive book collection. Her gardens that she planted in her younger years were abundant with every kind of vegetable and beautiful flowers. Also, one of her greatest loves was for animals. Catherine was a lifelong animal lover. She never met a stray animal that she didn't take in as her own. She rescued and saved numerous stray cats and dogs in her lifetime and championed every cause that she was able to that supported the welfare and protection of all animals.
