Barbara was born Saturday, August 12, 1944 in Good Thunder, Minnesota to the late Edwin Anderson and Naomi Anderson Oursler. She worked for J.H. Montgomery Industries for over thirty-five years and was of the Episcopalian Faith. Barbara loved animals and enjoyed needlepoint. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Spencer; her stepfather, Charles Oursler, Sr. and a sister, Katherine Oursler.
Left to cherish fond memories are her sons, Gary Tharp of Harris, Shawn Spencer (Martina) of Forest City and Shannon Spencer (Kathy) of Gilkey; four brothers, Jerry Anderson of Good Thunder, MN, Larry Anderson of Good Thunder, MN, Dan Anderson of Elko, MN, Charles Oursler of Chesnee, SC and sisters, Bonnie "Beaners" Linton and Betty Oursler both of Burtonsville, Maryland. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Austin and Hunter Spencer.
Memorial donations are requested to the Rutherford County Humane Society, PO Box 998, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
A celebration of life will be conducted on a later date.
