OBITUARY: Nancy Lytle, July 20, 1938 ~ January 26, 2022 - reprinted from the O'Connell Family Funeral Home website

Nancy Ann Lytle, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2022 after a valiant fight with dementia.

Nancy was born July 20, 1938 to Eugene and Ida (Thompson) Frey in River Falls WI, where she joined her older siblings, Bob, Paul, Mary, and Dick. She attended grade school in River Falls, and graduated from Prescott High School with the class 1956. In 1957 she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Lytle and their life was blessed with four children: Debbie, Tammy, David, and Tom.

Beginning in 1968, Nancy had a long career at Malone Elementary school in Prescott, wore she wore many "hats". In her early years of service, you could find her in the kitchen preparing and serving meals to the children. For a short time, she aided in the classrooms helping children with extra needs. She then moved to the office and was the beloved school secretary for over 30 years before she retired in 2005.

While raising her family, Nancy was an active member of United Church of Christ in Prescott. She later rejoined her childhood church, Ezekiel Lutheran in River Falls. From singing in the choir, to helping out in the office, to lovingly stitching quilts for missions she was a blessing to all.

Nancy was a very skilled seamstress and after retirement many were blessed by her alterations as well any other sewing needs they may have had. When daughters, Debbie and Tammy were married, she lovingly made each of their wedding gowns as well as gowns for each of their bridesmaids. In recent years she took great pride in altering each of granddaughters wedding dresses, always tucking in that extra bit of love with each stitch.

A loving mother of four, she was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her home and arms were always open. Nancy also had a huge heart for dogs, and was never without a faithful companion by her side. Her most recent fur-baby, Binx, proceeded her in death.

Nancy is survived by her former husband Robert Lytle; children: Debbie Perkins, Tammy Brenner, David Lytle, and Tom Lytle; grandchildren: Chris, Brian (Janelle), Sarah (Derik), Janelle (Jason), Kevin (Alysha), Aric (Julia), Nicole (Tim), Tricia (Pat), Nate, Cassie, Kylie, Michael, and Kayla (Ben); 17 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; along with many nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Eugene and Ida Frey, siblings, Bob, Paul, Mary, and Dick; and son-in-law Richard Perkins.

A funeral service will be at 11:00am Monday, January 31, 2022 at Prescott UCC 206 Locust St N, Prescott, WI 54021. A visitation will start at 9am until the beginning of the service. Burial will be at Pine Glen Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be grandson's: Chris, Brian, Kevin, Nate, Aric, and Michael.
