Warren Henry Hunsche - known to most as Bud - was born on June 29, 1931, at the farm home near Ulysses, Nebraska to his parents, Henry Emil F. Hunsche and Zetta Irene Anderson Hunsche. He was baptized on August 14, 1931, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rising City, NE.
Bud started his education at a country school near Ulysses until the family moved to Herman in December of 1941 where Bud finished out his school years. He graduated in a class of sixteen in 1949. While in high school he played basketball, baseball, went out for track, sang in the Chorus, was in a one-act play, and was sports editor of the school paper and annual.
Following graduation, Bud was employed at Kelly Ryan Equipment Company until April 1951 when he and friend Virgil Lowe joined the Navy. He had boot camp in San Diego and spent time in Guam and at Moffet Field in California. He was discharged from the Navy in 1955 and returned to Blair and worked at United Air Lines in Omaha for a year. He managed the Conoco Service Station in Blair from 1956 to 1958 when he went to work for Archie and Don Conrad at Fairway Oil on South Street. In 1973, he went to work in Omaha at Nebraska Engineering until 1977. At that time, he became a traveling salesman for LPF Equipment out of Grand Island selling propane equipment. In 1986, he was employed at Ace Hardware in Blair until 1993. After retirement from Ace, he worked for a time at the Ultra Car Wash.
Bud was married to Sally Bain in April of 1956 and to this union two children were born - Robert and Barbara.
Bud married Patricia Ruth Lippincott in December of 1964. They have one daughter Terri. Pat passed away on September 26, 2021.
Bud had been a member of the Blair Fire Department and the American Legion in Blair and Herman. Bud's family enjoyed many Sunday gatherings up on College Drive with something cooking on the grill no matter how cold it was outside. In the summer, the best treat was his homemade ice cream (of course Pat actually made the mix). The homemade ice cream tradition was started by his Uncle John Anderson in Glenwood.
Bud passed away on January 18, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Home in Blair. Bud is survived by his daughter Terri Hunsche of LaVista, son Robert Hunsche of Kansas City, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and brother-in-law Robert Christensen. Also surviving are brothers-in-law Tom (Janice) Lippincott and Bill (Elna) Lippincott and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his daughter Barbara Hunsche Kling, sisters Charlotte (Earl) Pace and Marian Christensen, and sister-in-law Ginny (John) Beck.
Services will be held at a later date. Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home in Wahoo is in charge of arrangements.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on April 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Blair Cemetery for Bud Hunsche. A light lunch will be served at the Blair American Legion Post #154 following the burial.
