Ronald Neal Walker was born October 15, 1946 in Durham, NC and passed on January 21, 2022, in Madison WI at the age of 75. He was a longtime WI resident and lived in the Dairy State since 1968. He served in the US Army as a helicopter scout with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 reaching the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Ron graduated from Durham High School in 1965 and later received a BS (c.1973) and MS (c.1974) from UW Stevens Point in history and a JD (1979) from UW Madison. He was a man with many interests and talents as an educator, scholar, inventor and musician, as well as a lawyer for 40+ years in the Iowa County area. He was an avid gun enthusiast, dog lover and devoted father. Ron served as a volunteer firefighter in Cobb, WI, where he also owned and operated a daycare center. He was known far and wide for his famous NC-style pork barbecue.

He was predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth Walker. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Janice K. Wexler, with whom he shared many adventures; brother Myers Bonner Walker Jr. (Carbondale, IL); sons: Jeff Walker (Lantana, TX), Ross Walker (Middleton, WI), Austin Walker (Helotes, TX); daughter Aubrey Walker (Cobb, WI); step-sons: Ari Davidson (Boise, ID) and Josh Davidson (Madison, WI); grandchildren: John Walker (St. Charles, IL), Isabella and Elijah Walker (Lantana, TX), Marley, Kemp and Theya Walker (Helotes, TX); and faithful dog Moxie.
