Jesse Jackson " Jack" Camp, Sr. age 84, of Bremen, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia.
Jack was born in Carrollton, Georgia on December 25, 1937 the son of the late James Benjamin Camp, Sr. and Mary Nell Bannon Overstreet. He attended Carrollton and Villa Rica High School where he played football for the Trojans and the Wildcats. He graduated from Chamblee High School in 1957. Jack was an avid sports fan and didn't miss watching many of the Braves games and he was a season ticket holder for the Atlanta Falcons. Jack built a thirty seven year career with Genuine Parts and later worked for Atlanta Auto Auction in Douglasville, Georgia. He was Baptist by Faith and a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Jesse Jackson Camp, Jr., Bremen, Georgia, Stephen and Melissa Camp, Villa Rica, Georgia, Matthew and Jan Camp, Newnan, Georgia; grandchildren, Isabelle Camp, Tyler and Katie Donaldson Camp, Jacob and Kaitlyn Naumik Camp and Jackson Britt, sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Johnny Horn, Cumming, Georgia. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lee Fincher Camp, daughter-in-law, Dawn Camp, sisters, Pat Williams, Kay Greenway and brother, James Benjamin Camp, Jr.
The family will receive friends at J. Collins Funeral Home on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m with sons, Stephen, Matt and Jack Camp officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
