Norma was born on March 9, 1929, daughter of Daisy and Harry Richmond. Mrs. Carroll was a long-time employee of K&W Hardware, where she worked alongside of her sister Margaret Whorton. She was a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she found joy, comfort and friendship. She had many dear friends in the community and could frequently be found playing cards at the Moundsville Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, J. Lee Berisford, Charles Carroll her second husband, her daughter Jayne Berisford Norman, a grandson Julian Berisford; three sisters, Essie Richmond, Dot Richmond, and Margaret Whorton; and two brothers – Gene and Glen Richmond.
Survivors include her son John Berisford who resides in Ridgefield, CT with his wife Lori and daughters Lane and Liza; son Jule Berisford (Dawnette Blake) of Charlotte, NC and two granddaughters Brooklyn Phillips of Cincinnati, OH and Savannah Phillips of Shadyside, OH.
Norma's step-children Mike Carroll (Amy) of Lewis Center, OH, Steve Carroll of McMechen, WV; Susie McGlumphy (Brian) of Columbus, OH and nephews Bert "Cork" Whorton (Jackie) of Elm Grove WV and John "Skip" Whorton of Wheeling, and niece Judy Beckley of Shadyside, OH.
A private service will be held for family at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, followed by a private burial at Riverview Cemetery in Moundsville, WV.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Marshall County (Moundsville) Senior Center, 805 5th Street, Moundsville, WV 26041 or Calvary Methodist Church, 1601 1st Street, Moundsville, WV 26041.
