Frances was born on August 30, 1933 in Granville County to the late Robert Irvin Ellis and Helen Moss Ellis. She grew up in Granville County and was one of ten children. Frances farmed during her young life and much of her adult life. She was a hairdresser and a homemaker. Frances was very active in her community and in her church. She had a servant's heart and was a member at Tally Ho First Baptist Church in Stem. Frances was known for her cooking and sweet tea and loved to feed anyone that came to visit. She loved to eat at Chick-Fil-A when she wasn't cooking. Frances enjoyed traveling, whether it was to the beach or to the mountains in the fall to pick fresh apples. When her health started to decline and she could no longer travel, she enjoyed riding in the car and sightseeing. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren and was known to everyone as "Nanny".
She is survived by her husband of seven and a half years, Jimmy Wilkins; a daughter, Christy Wilkins Campbell (Keith); a daughter-in-law, Cyndi Wilkins; four grandchildren, Ariel Wilkins (Mark), Michaela Wilkins, Jonathan Wilkins and Jimmy Campbell; one great-grandson, Dawson Zeltmann; a step son, Tim Wilkins (Kim); two step-grandchildren, Ian and Tessa Wilkins; two sisters, Clara Reynolds and Patricia Bradsher; two brothers, J.D.
