OBITUARY
RICHARD T. HAMILTON
JANUARY 30, 1949 – JANUARY 24, 2022
Richard T. Hamilton, 72, of Norwich, passed away on January 24, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse.
Richard was predeceased by
his parents, Richard W. and Gladys Hamilton;
his brothers,
Albert Schmidt, and Robert Schmidt;
and his in-laws, Arthur and Patricia Eldred.
Survivors include
his wife, Kim Hamilton;
his children,
Amy Hamilton,
Sean and Kiernan Hamilton,
Lucy Hamilton,
Kaylee Hamilton,
Jeremy and Hannah Hamilton,
Mandi Hamilton,
April Frasier,
Cynthia Porter,
and two special ladies that he considered to be his daughters, Brianna Cummings and Shaylynn Cummings; his grandchildren:
Ireland, Nellie, and Seamus Hamilton, Anthony Oppito, Felicity, Rocky, and Hudson Hamilton, Keysha Hamilton, Adrianna Brown, Deneisha Lindsey, Shaniqua Hamilton, and Karson Hamilton;
his brothers and sisters,
Eloise Albro,
Carol Secoolish,
Beverly Torrey, and
William Hamilton;
his sisters in law, Patsy Schmidt, and Jane Schmidt;
as well as several nieces, nephews
and other family members.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to Quebec with his son, Sean. But most of all, he loved being a parent, grandparent and foster parent. Richard and Kim fostered over 300 children throughout the years. Richard was known for saying that you don't have to be blood relatives to be family.
Richard's family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
He will be laid to rest at a later date in Sampson Veteran's Cemetery.
