Mary Helen "Red" Vance, 94 of Newton, MS passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her home in Newton, MS.

She was born Thursday, November 10, 1927 in Newton County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Newton County Funeral Home - South with funeral services immediately following in the chapel.

Burial will follow in Pine Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton, MS.

Bro. Lin Chesney and Bro. Jackie Strebeck will officiate. Newton County Funeral Home - South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Vance worked at the Newton Company for 25 years, she was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She loved her church, Pine Bluff Baptist Church in which she had been a member for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Myrtie Nelson Valentine; brothers, Elton Valentine, Jack Valentine, and Boots Valentine; and sisters, Ida Mae Gibbs and Peggy Everett.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years Bryan Vance; son, Bill Vance (Vicki); daughters, Dianne Richardson (Hubert) and Elizabeth Vance and Debbie Vance; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
