Ella Faith Burt Smith June 13, 1932 - January 26, 2022

Ella Faith Burt Smith, 89, of 916 Wesley Court, Boiling Springs, S.C. formerly of Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Wesley Court Assisted Living Community.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, she was the widow of the late Donald Bishop Smith and daughter of the late Neil Frank Burt and Bessie Hayward Burt.

She retired as a registered nurse in the NICU at Mary Black Memorial and Spartanburg Regional Hospitals after 50 plus years of service, a previous member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg, and a member of First Baptist Church in Gaffney where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Senior Adult Choir. She loved her family, serving others, volunteered for a pediatric hospice group, enjoyed baking, and was an avid porcelain doll maker.

Surviving is a son, Donald Bishop Smith, Jr. (Vicki) of Anderson, S.C.; two daughters, Janice Smith of Orlando, Florida and Alison Godfrey (Johnnie) of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Faith Spradling, Andrew Hallman (Christin), Rebecca de Valcourt (Sebastian), Pamela Schult (Matt), Kari Beth Smith, Donald Smith, III, Jenna Godfrey and Haleigh Godfrey; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith McKernan and Norma Plante, and two brothers, Leon Burt and Donald Burt.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Huddleston and Reverend Tommy Comer officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church Gaffney, "Building Fund", 200 N. Limestone Street, Gaffney, S.C. 29340 or Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.

The family will be at the home of Johnnie & Alison Godfrey, 302 Margaret Avenue, Gaffney, S.C. 29341.
