Colleen Faye "Connie" Sullivan, 80, Carpio, died Friday, December 21, 2007 in the Kenmare hospital.

Colleen Faye was born July 20, 1927 in Fargo ND to Raymond and Hannah (Fedje) Duncanson. As her parents moved quite frequently, Connie attended fourteen schools throughout Minnesota and North Dakota while completing her twelve years of education. She graduated from Carpio High School in 1946. This is where she met her future husband Gordon Sullivan.

Gordon and Connie were married October 23, 1949 in Carpio, where they made their home and raised two children, Brad and Nadine.

Connie was very active in the community over the years. She worked at Montgomery Ward in Minneapolis and Minot as a bookkeeper. She also worked at both grocery stores in Carpio and was a bookkeeper for the Carpio Farmers Union Oil Co. and the Carpio Elevator for Ed Haaland and later for Gary Springer. She was the secretary at the Carpio School from 1981 until the school closed in 1991. She then worked part-time for the Carpio Post Office as post mistress. Gordon passed away April 13, 1997.

Connie was a member of the Carpio Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and served as the Sunday School Superintendent. She was also in the Dorcas Circle and sang in the church choir.

She was involved with the Carpio PTO, Ladies Aid, Royal Neighbors of America, the Donnybrook Legion Women's Auxiliary and was a Cub Scout den mother. Connie enjoyed acting and singing. She was in several plays put on by the Carpio PTO and Bicentennial Committees. While in Rochester she won first place in a talent show for playing the guitar and yodeling.

Connie liked to bowl, sew, and bake. Her lefse was always on request by her daughter Nadine in AZ. Connie enjoyed her trips to the Four Bears casino to play the nickel slots. She loved to play Solitaire especially Two-Handed and Clubs.

In 2005 Connie moved to the Kenmare Baptist Home in Kenmare and later moved to the Kenmare Community Hospital where she passed away December 21, 2007.

Connie always put others before herself. Even in Kenmare she was always concerned about others and wouldn't start eating until others at her table were being helped. She loved the family dog, Toby, and always had his treats waiting when he came home from his morning trips to the post office. Connie also enjoyed it when he would bring Brad along to visit.

People who shared in her life while going to school and working at Montgomery Ward were, her Grandmother Fedje, Milnor ND, Edward and Judy (Fedje) Jenner, Kulm ND, Art Sr. and Ann Anderson, Minot ND.

Connie is survived by her son Bradley Carpio ND, daughter Nadine (Allan) Geiman, Apache Junction AZ, brothers Bruce (Ellen) Duncanson, Omaha NE, Lee (Sue) Duncanson, Annville PA. Several nieces and nephews, two step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband Gordon and infant daughter Nancy Rae, her parents Raymond and Hannah Duncanson, her Grandma Fedje, aunts Olga (Fedje) Nelson, Judy (Fedje) Jenner and uncles Alvin, Oscar, and Severt Fedje.
